Fluoride OK’d for San Jose drinking water

Fluoride OK’d for San Jose drinking water !!!

Santa Clara Valley Water District decides to add flouride to the drinking water after a vote by the board on Tuesday. This will include almost 1.5 million residents whose share the drinking water source.  Most of the United States (around 3/4) already have flouride in their drinking water.

The article by KTVU says, ‘ “When you fluoridate the water, childhood tooth decay drops 40percent and among the elderly, tooth loss and decay drops 70percent,” said Dr. Donald Lyman, of the state Department of PublicHealth.’

APEN, the Asian Pacific Environmental Network is turning 18!!!!!

On November 17th, 2011 at the Scottish Rite Center at 1547 Lakeside Drive, Oakland, CA 94612 Come Celebrate with a Reception at 6:00pm and Dinner and Programs at 7:00pm.

APEN is a leader in environmental and social justice utilizing grassroots organizing to improve peoples’ HEALTH and WELL-BEING by empowering low-income Asian Pacific Islander communities. Local Bay Area organizing includes the Laotian Organizing Project (LOP, Power in Asian Organizing (PAO), and Asian Youth Advocates. Check out the AYA photography project, where the young women in the group documented how they saw their surrounding environment.
